Class 28 Graduation
The Mosaic Center held the graduation ceremony for the women of Class 28 on Thursday, April 26, at Christ Congregational Church. This dedicated group of ladies worked so hard over the last 12 weeks, and deserve to be celebrated! Mosaic Center staff and volunteers, former graduates, and family and friends of the graduates filled the beautiful sanctuary to witness the ceremony.
Reverend Randall Green, Christ Congregational Church, opened the ceremony in prayer. Sheila Telford, Mosaic Center Board President, and Rebecca Reid, Mosaic Center Executive Director, shared encouragement of the amazing ways God is working through The Mosaic Center to support the women of Angelina County. The highlight of the ceremony was hearing from each graduate about her experience during the past 3 months of class. Some mentioned classes that impacted them the most, such as Boundaries or Money Management. Some told stories of friendships built during their time at The Mosaic Center. However, each graduate consistently mentioned how they were impacted the most by Bible Study and the love and encouragement they received in the house. It was evident The Lord was moving in the hearts of all who attended by joy that filled the room. The ceremony ended by watching the graduates give a moving Expression of Praise, directed by Lisa Wise. Guests were invited to join us down the hall for a short reception. There was lots of hugging, smiling and laughing, and plenty of cookies!
It was truly a wonderful evening as all who attended could see for themselves the transforming power of the love of Jesus Christ in each graduate. A special thanks to Christ Congregational Church, Reverend Randall Green, Bob Canty, the Mentor Team, and others for hosting graduation and the reception following.
Family Fun Day!
At the end of May, The Mosaic Center hosted our Graduate Family Fun Day! We invited all of our graduates and their families out to a pavillion outside of Ellen Trout Zoo. In the morning, we rode the Z&OO Train. We had several crafts, games, and face-painting available. We also had a special performance by Melody Williams and her friend, Danny the puppet, who spoke to us about how valuable we are to Christ. A wonderful lunch was served by several of The Mosaic Center’s Board of Directors. We even raffled off four 1-Year Family Membership Passes to our graduates. After lunch, Executive Director Rebecca Reid walked our group across the street, where graduates and their families could enjoy an afternoon at their own pace in the zoo.
This was one of our largest turnouts! It was a fantastic day – we always love spending time with all of the graduates in one place. God is doing amazing things in their lives, and it’s so good to hear about it in person!
