August Volunteer Appreciation
On August 15, 2019, The Mosaic Center held a Volunteer Celebration at Keltys First Baptist church. Volunteers helping with the upcoming class (Class 29) came and learned about the different volunteer roles at The Mosaic Center. Class 29 marks the beginning of the 15th year of classes.
Board President Sheila Telford began the program, welcoming everyone and introducing the Board of Directors. Carolyn Tinkle, Board Parliamentarian and one of the founding “Mothers” of The Mosaic, shared stories of how The Mosaic Center came to be. Board Treasurer Daren Hamaker spoke of what’s happened over the last 10 years. Each staff member then shared about their position and all of the volunteer teams they work with, and what their role at The Mosaic Center is. Ashley Bratton, current Board Vice-President and President Elect, concluded the program. A light lunch was provided. It was a wonderful event; and the volunteers were so happy to learn about how essential their role is, as well as all of the other important roles at The Mosaic Center.
A special thanks to Keltys First Baptist Church for having us!
Family Fun Day!
At the end of May, The Mosaic Center hosted our Graduate Family Fun Day! We invited all of our graduates and their families out to a pavillion outside of Ellen Trout Zoo. In the morning, we rode the Z&OO Train. We had several crafts, games, and face-painting available. We also had a special performance by Melody Williams and her friend, Danny the puppet, who spoke to us about how valuable we are to Christ. A wonderful lunch was served by several of The Mosaic Center’s Board of Directors. We even raffled off four 1-Year Family Membership Passes to our graduates. After lunch, Executive Director Rebecca Reid walked our group across the street, where graduates and their families could enjoy an afternoon at their own pace in the zoo.
This was one of our largest turnouts! It was a fantastic day – we always love spending time with all of the graduates in one place. God is doing amazing things in their lives, and it’s so good to hear about it in person!
