Hearts for Hope Auction and Dinner. Food. Fellowship. Fun.
Thanks to everyone who came out to The Mosaic Center’s Hearts for Hope Auction and Dinner. We had a full house on Tuesday evening at Pitser Garrison Convention Center! It was our first year at this location, and it was so special to be right across the street from The Mosaic Center. The talented singers of the Texas Bible College Ensemble started our evening with a moving performance. The dynamic duo, Sally Alvis, and The Honorable Bob Inselmann carried us through the evening as our Masters of Ceremony. Throughout the evening, guests of all ages enjoyed and even sang along with the GMC Trio, (Mike Ramsey, Gene Ramsey, Carolyn McClendon). A surprise guest, Elvis Presley himself, crashed the party and delighted audience with a fantastic performance (Elvis was portrayed by Dr. Mark Livingston, Senior Pastor at Keltys First Baptist Church). David Calhoun of Texas Custom Catering served up hearty portions of Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and who could forget the gravy! Everyone was crazy about the food! Amanda Johnson, a Mosaic Graduate, shared her powerful and moving testimony of God transforming her life. As she, her family, and now good friend, Deputy Kristen Henley, Angelina County Sherriff’s Dept., were presented from the stage, the crowd honored them with a standing ovation. The Volunteer of the Year award, known as “The Emily Award,” was presented to a surprised and very well-deserving Emily Kistler. Auction opportunities included a Live Auction, Silent Auction, Dessert Auction, Rose Table, and Raffle. Raffle winners were Bobbie Edwards for the Apple Watch, Yolanda Bell for the $500 Sam’s Club Gift card, and Joyce Jackson for the $500 Brookshire Brothers Gift card. Janie Vandergriff won the Michael Kors purse in the Rose Raffle. This event brings in approximately 1/3 of The Mosaic Center’s annual budget and The Lord allowed us to reach our goal again this year. This would not have been possible without the support of the Christian Community. Special thanks to volunteers from the Lufkin Rotary, Hudson Highlights, and ladies from Keltys First Baptist Church for serving. All Glory to God for this unforgettable evening!
