Celebrating 20 Years of Prayer

Welcome to the Mosaic Center’s 20-Year Legacy of Prayer

This special milestone marks two decades of faith, hope, and life-changing impact within our community. Through the prayers and dedication of the Mosaic Mothers and countless others, lives have been transformed, and women in our community have found renewed strength and purpose.

We invite you to watch this powerful video as part of our special series honoring the legacy of prayer and the incredible journey we’ve shared together.

The Mosaic Center, Inc.

Founders: The Mothers of The Mosaic

In 2003, God gave a vision to a group of Lufkin women for a Christian women’s education center in Angelina County. This group of ladies, now known as “The Mothers of The Mosaic,” visited the Christian Women’s Job Corp Program in Tyler for inspiration. They prayed about how this vision could become a reality in Lufkin.

Volunteers were trained by the Christian Women’s Job Corp, an affiliate of Women’s Missionary Union for a school: The Mosaic Center, Inc. In 2004, a house was donated for The Mosaic Center’s use, and restoration began by dedicated volunteers.

The vision became a reality and The Mosaic Center, Inc. opened its doors for the first class in the fall of 2005. Eight ladies completed an 11-week program. In 2006 – The Adult Learning Center of Lufkin partnered with The Mosaic Center, Inc. and GED classes began.

In 2007, The Mosaic Center, Inc. received the donation of the historic Denman Home, 601 N. First Street, located in Downtown Lufkin.  Renovations of this house began to transform it from a home to a school. And in 2008, classes moved to its current location. That same year, The Mosaic Center, Inc. was awarded The Governor’s State Award, One Star, for a Community Encourager.

Classes rapidly increased in size, and new curriculum was added as the program grew. Angelina College and The Adult Learning Center of Lufkin became huge supporters that contributed to The Mosaic’s success. In partnership with Angelina College, The Mosaic Center began to offer English as a Second Language (ESL), and Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) classes.

In 2020, The Mosaic Center celebrated the 15 year anniversary of ministry to the women of Angelina County.

Today, The Mosaic Center holds two 12-week Core Program courses each year, one in the spring and in the fall. Each class can accommodate up to 24 women. The Core Program includes Jobs for Life training, GED and Adult Basic Education, computer skills, resume writing, mock interviews, personal money management, Healthy Boundaries and Decision making curriculum, health and wellness, parenting, CPR training, Food Handler’s certification, and more. In addition, The Mosaic Center offers a CPS approved, stand-alone Parenting Program. There are 5 staff members, 17 board members, and over 300 volunteers that serve the Mosaic Center in a given year.

God’s provision and blessing are undeniable in the story of The Mosaic Center, and He continues to fill our cup to overflowing. All Glory to God!

Understanding God’s unconditional love for all, The Mosaic Center exhibits an example of God’s love by fostering human dignity and self-respect.  The Center seeks to promote and nurture an integrated vision of the whole person – body, soul, and spirit.

  • Students of The Mosaic Center develop economic self-sufficiency to strengthen the family unit.  This is achieved through education, guidance, job and life skills training, mentoring and follow-up.
  • Volunteers of The Mosaic Center find a place of meaningful service through teaching, mentoring and serving.

The Vision of the Mosaic Center is to Educate, Elevate, and Activate women to build a successful future.
